Enjoy sweets at planned times

For decay risk, frequent snacking over many hours is less favourable than a deliberate portion with a meal. Drink water afterwards and return to your normal routine. A single moment of enjoyment is no reason for guilt.

Limit acidic drinks

Punch, juice and soft drinks can combine sugar and acid. Sipping for a long time prolongs contact with teeth. Water is the best choice in between; avoid vigorous brushing immediately after very acidic foods or drinks.

Restorations, aligners and splints

Even on festive days, removable appliances need safe storage and appropriate cleaning. Hot water and unsuitable cleaning products can affect materials. Agreed wear times should be maintained as far as possible.

Take sensitive teeth seriously

Cold air and hot drinks can make sensitive tooth necks more noticeable. If pain persists, occurs spontaneously or affects one tooth particularly strongly, the cause should be examined rather than simply masking symptoms.
