Swelling and general symptoms

Increasing swelling, fever and difficulty swallowing or breathing need prompt assessment. For shortness of breath, call emergency medical services on 112. Painkillers must not delay a necessary examination.

If a crown or temporary restoration is loose

Store detached parts cleanly, avoid stressing the affected side and do not use household glue. Whether the restoration can be reinserted depends on fit, the tooth and the possible cause.

After a dental injury

Time matters with knocked-out or severely loosened permanent teeth. Handle the tooth only by the crown, do not clean the root or store it dry, and seek a suitable dental clinic or emergency facility as quickly as possible.

Use the official emergency-service search

KZV Baden-Württemberg publishes current daily emergency-service information. If possible, call the listed practice beforehand and describe symptoms, medication and relevant medical conditions. Opening hours may differ on public holidays.
