Which percentages are planned from 2027

Under the adopted reform, the basic subsidy for standard treatment falls from 60 to 50 per cent. With five years of documented preventive care, it falls from 70 to 60 per cent, and with ten years from 75 to 65 per cent. These figures are shares of the average cost of standard treatment.

Why the personal contribution cannot be calculated across the board

The fixed subsidy is linked to the findings. The actual personal contribution depends on findings, chosen restoration, materials, laboratory work and other services. A reduction of ten percentage points therefore does not automatically mean every final bill increases by exactly ten per cent.

Dental check-up records and hardship provisions

The dental check-up record remains important because documented preventive care continues to increase the subsidy. The hardship provision remains for insured people on low incomes; if recognised, standard treatment can continue to be fully covered. The health insurer makes the decision.

Prepare sensibly now

Check dental check-up records and existing documents, have the planned restoration explained clearly and submit the treatment and cost plan to the health insurer in good time. Clinically necessary treatment should not be rushed or postponed solely because of a cut-off date.

As of 4 August 2026. The final wording of the law, the specific insured case and the health insurer's decision are decisive.
