Caring for fixed restorations
For crowns and bridges, the transitions to the gums are particularly important. Under bridge pontics, floss, interdental brushes or threading aids may be useful depending on the shape. The appropriate size and technique should be demonstrated individually.
Cleaning removable dentures
Dentures are cleaned outside the mouth according to the care instructions for the material. Very hot water and strongly abrasive products can affect surfaces or fit. Remaining teeth, tongue and gums still need daily care too.
Why check-ups remain important
Pressure sores, loosened components, deposits or gum changes should be checked early. Regular appointments also help assess fit and the oral situation around the restoration.
The appropriate care plan
The restoration, natural teeth, dexterity and possible medical conditions determine which aids are practical in daily life. Personal instruction is therefore more useful than a generic product list.
